2023 Conference Scholarships for Pre-Law Advisors
Don’t Stop Believin’
Dear Pre-Law Advisors
PCAPLA will provide up to $400 to a limited number of pre-law advisors who, without assistance, would not be able to attend the June 6 – 10, 2023 Conference. A scholarship will cover the cost of the conference (minus the $50 PCAPLA membership fee). If you apply for a PCAPLA scholarship, please do not pay the conference registration until you receive a decision about your scholarship application, see details below. Scholarships are being awarded on a rolling basis. For those eligible for an LSAC MSI scholarship/travel subsidy, please note that process below and apply for the LSAC scholarship first, before applying to the PAPLA scholarship.
LSAC Scholarships/Travel Subsidies
Advisors from MSIs (Minority Serving Institutions): HACU (HSI Institutions), HBCU, TCU and AANAPISI institutions may be eligible for an LSAC scholarship (Travel Subsidies), granted once per year. Please check with D’Wayn Mapp, grants and sponsorship manager with the LSAC by phone at 267-309-6866 or by email at [email protected] to see if you are eligible.
Please note they have different application deadlines, which are available through their site. LSAC Travel Subsidies provide a partial scholarship of up to $600 to cover conference registration, housing and/or travel expenses (with the exception of airport parking). The $50 PCAPLA membership fee is not covered by either the PCAPLA or the LSAC scholarship.
If eligible for this MSI scholarship, go to LSAC.org to request their $600 scholarship to support your attendance at the 2023 PCAPLA conference. After signing in through your pre-law advisor account, under the Prelaw Advisor Dashboard, select: ‘Events, Recruitment, and Ambassador Request’, then ‘Travel Subsidies’, and then ‘Begin Your Application’ to apply.
